Work Experience Internship Program

The Work Experience Internship in Grand Junction, CO is a short-term, paid work activity, which provides an individual with the opportunity to acquire the skill and knowledge necessary to perform a job.
Wages are paid directly to the individual intern through the Mesa County Workforce Center. Approved funding is provided through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act grant.
Participants Receive:
- Instruction in workplace skills, goals, and structure
- Exposure to various aspects of an industry
- Individual case management throughout the experience
- Payment for all hours worked
Businesses Receive:
- Fully funded intern bringing fresh perspectives into the workplace
- Assistance recruiting and screening internship participants
- Support from Workforce Center case managers throughout experience
- Final decision on selecting internship candidates for interview and hire
- Opportunity to give back to the community and invest time in training our workforce
The Work Experience Internship in Grand Junction is a collaborative activity involving the employer and the Mesa County Workforce Center engaging in workforce development.
Participants must be enrolled in our program prior to starting a work based learning or training opportunity, this process typically takes 1-2 weeks. All employers and participants must be registered with Connecting Colorado.
