Mesa County Animal Services transitions to a separate enforcement and services model
Mesa County is implementing significant changes to its animal services operations to improve animal welfare and enhance public safety. Starting Jan. 1, 2025, Animal Services will operate under a separate enforcement and services model, a shift in how animal-related responsibilities are managed within Mesa County.

The Old Mesa County Courthouse is Getting a New Roof
The Old Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave., is undergoing a $179,000 roof replacement because the roof has surpassed its expected service life after provisioning shelter since its installation in 2000. The team began the roof replacement on Sept. 18 and is estimated to complete the project at the beginning of October.

Food Safety Alert: Kraft Heinz Singles American Processed Cheese Slices Recalled
Some batches of Kraft Singles American processed cheese slices are being recalled. The manufacturer, Kraft Heinz, is recalling the product due to a packaging defect causing the potential for film to remain adhered to the cheese slice after the wrapper has been removed. If the film sticks to the slice and is not removed, it could potentially cause a gagging or choking hazard.
