The South Broadway Shoulder Widening project has made many advancements in the last few months and is nearing completion, expected in April of 2023.

The new culvert has been installed with concrete headwalls at each end after the removal of the old Redlands water and power irrigation culvert below South Broadway. This portion of the project will improve the hydraulics system within the culvert.

A wider and safer road shoulder for all users is in the near future as the 6’ shoulder on the north side of South Broadway has been filled and compacted to the height of the existing road. Crews will finalize this portion of the project when the asphalt becomes available.

The intersection of South Broadway and Spoon Court has been improved with the addition of a pedestrian crosswalk as well as drainage and grade improvements.

The 1,000’ of 8’ sidewalk segments were placed on the south side of the project location.

In the next few weeks, crews will complete all final items for each section of the project, finalize landscaping, and regrade the parking lot for Kindred Reserve Open Space Park.
