You’re Invited: 2024 Mesa Talks Mental Health Summit

Mesa County invites mental health professionals, first responders, medical staff, and community members to attend Mesa Talks, a two-day summit on mental health, on Oct. 10 and 11. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Colorado Mesa University’s University Center, located at 1100 North Ave.

Mesa County Innovates Service to the Community

Mesa County Department of Human Services (MCDHS) was recognized following successful efforts made to reduce the amount of time it takes to receive support through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Finance (HCPF). CDHS applauded MCDHS for increasing application processing timeliness by 40 percent in just seven months, and HCPF recognized Mesa County as a top performer among large counties.

Underfunded Courthouse Facility grant application authorized

The Board of County Commissioners authorized the submission of a $1.575 million grant application to the State of Colorado’s Underfunded Courthouse Facility program during their Sept. 24 public hearing. If awarded, this grant is intended to help fund the ongoing Mesa County Justice Center improvement project, demonstrating Mesa County’s commitment to providing modern, efficient court facilities that meet the increasing demands of our legal system.
