Springtime is in full bloom here in Mesa County, and as we welcome warmer weather and longer days, it's the perfect time to refresh and renew! If decluttering your home is on your to-do list, here's a friendly reminder to tarp your load when it's time to haul away your unwanted items and trash.

Uncovered loads create unsightly litter along our beautiful roads and pose significant safety risks to our community. That's why adhering to the Colorado Traffic Code and securely covering your load before driving to the Mesa County Landfill is crucial.

Examples of uncovered loads to avoid:

  • Loads with appliances that haven't been properly tied down and tarped
  • Loads containing loose waste, bags, boxes, or debris
  • Any load that isn't securely covered, including cement and rock
  • Loads with garbage cans that aren't secured and covered

Your cooperation plays a vital role in keeping Mesa County roads cleaner and safer for everyone. Let's work together to preserve the beauty and safety of our community this spring!
