When you recycle paint responsibly, you bring a smile to someone's face, allowing them to transform their space to reflect their unique personality. Your half-full can of paint isn't at the end of its life after beautifying your home or adding a pop of color to your local business.

The impact of paint on our lives often goes unnoticed, but our community has an opportunity to showcase its care! Mesa County Solid Waste Management teams up with PaintCare, a national non-profit on a mission for paint recycling. Through collaboration with collection sites like ours, PaintCare rescues leftover house paints, stains, and varnishes from drop-off locations and gives them new life in specialized recycling facilities.

The latex-based paint transforms into the raw material for crafting brand-new paint products. Some companies package the refurbished paint for retail, good as new! Oil-based items are repurposed as an alternative fuel for various eco-friendly incineration processes.

As a proud PaintCare partner, Mesa County saves on disposal costs and earns funds for every repurposed paint container. Our award-winning process of utilizing old latex paint as the landfill's "alternative daily cover" and any paint customers pick up through our materials reuse program brings additional funds for our hazardous waste program. It's a win-win that keeps your disposal fees lower!

Ready to offload those old paint cans cluttering your space and bring the joy of paint to others? For more information about PaintCare, paint recycling, and where you can drop off your old paint for free, visit paintcare.org.
