Are you in the process of a creative DIY project at home? Or maybe you’re decluttering for more space to start that project you’re excited about.

Whether you’re looking to get rid of household hazardous waste items to create room for new projects or are interested in free ways to brighten up your home or yard for springtime, the Mesa County Hazardous Waste Collection Facility has what you need.

The Materials Reuse Program at the Mesa County Hazardous Waste Facility offers free drop-off and pick-up of items, including paints, stains, pesticides, fertilizers, household cleaners, pool and spa chemicals, and more. The program attempts to help residents save a little cash on common household items while protecting our community from negative environmental impacts, accidental poisonings, or fire hazards.

Stop by the Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, 3071 US-50, from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, to drop off or pick up household items. Feel free to call ahead at 970-256-9543 to check item availability, as certain items go quickly.
