Last week the Mesa County Sheriff's Office cut the crime scene tape on the new substation at 126 2nd St. in Clifton. The new substation is 3,568 square feet and will serve as the home for the Law Operations Division of the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office substation moved to the permanent location to provide deputies with improved access, enabling them to respond to calls more promptly and better serve citizens. The new substation provides increased computer workstations for deputies, ensuring they can efficiently complete case reports and spend more time patrolling the unincorporated areas of Mesa County.

"The collaboration between Mesa County and BOA Builders LLC to complete the new substation was particularly special as Charlie Gechter, an 8-year veteran of the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, transitioned from his role in law enforcement to lead his father's construction business and had the opportunity to bring his expertise to the project," said the Chair of the Board of Mesa County Commissioners Janet Rowland.

Mesa County is excited to see how the new substation improves the lives of deputies and residents and looks forward to future plans to enhance the capabilities and services of the Mesa County Sheriff's Office Substation.
