The public can learn about:

  • The purpose of the plan, including funding and schedule.
  • Safety concerns faced in our community, including existing conditions and crash trends.
  • Next steps and how to stay involved.

Public feedback is requested on:

  • Areas where the community has safety concerns.
  • Goals of the plan.
  • Safety areas the community wants to prioritize.

“Feedback from the community is crucial in identifying transportation safety issues throughout Mesa County,” said Rachel Peterson, project manager for the Regional Transportation Planning Office. “We encourage residents, visitors, and those traveling in Mesa County to learn more about the Safety Action Plan and share their concerns to help us enhance roadway safety in our community.”

Project Overview

Between 2016 and 2022, 117 people lost their lives on Mesa County roads, and thousands more were injured. The Mesa County Safety Action Plan aims to identify solutions to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on our roads. The plan will cover the entirety of Mesa County.
