The Loma Elementary School Sidewalk Project is one step closer to completion with Mesa County's approval of a $204,698.75 engineering contract for the project's first phase. The project aims to provide a detached pedestrian sidewalk along the east side of Highway 139, ensuring a safe path to school for students.

The approximately 0.75-mile project is set to begin at Highway 6 and 50 and continue north to N Road. Mesa County intends to seek funding from the Colorado Department of Transportation's (CDOT) Safe Routes to School Grant in 2023 to help with the construction costs.

Stay tuned for updates on this important project that will enhance the safety and accessibility of Loma Elementary School's surrounding area.
