The Melody Estates Drainage project is advancing and is on track to completion in June 2024.

On April 1, the construction contractor began removing the asphalt roadway to excavate and relocate existing water lines. Then, they moved on to install stormceptors, large storm drain maintenance holes with systems to separate the water from sediments, contaminants, and trash and allow the stormwater to return to groundwater. The crew has completed installing dry wells, allowing the separated stormwater to leech back into the ground.

Mesa County’s current focus is backfilling the surrounding areas with drain rock, pouring back curbs, gutters, driveways, and paving.

The project aims to resolve stormwater flooding issues at the Clarinet Lane cul-de-sac and Piano Lane bend.
