Mesa County Public Health (MCPH) is celebrating the success of the Immunization Team in providing vaccines during the respiratory virus season.  Since October 1, the team has given over 2,500 flu and COVID-19 vaccines.  These effective vaccines protect people from the most serious impacts of the viruses and help keep our community healthy.

“Our team at the Mesa County Public Health Clinic has gone above and beyond to make sure the community has access to these services. We are also thankful to the hundreds of community members who have rolled up their sleeves to get these vaccines, and help protect those who are most at risk for serious illness,” said Clinical Services Manager Allison Sanchez.

Both Flu and COVID-19, if they’re severe, can lead to hospitalization. This year flu hospitalizations have been much lower than last year. However, COVID-19 has steadily increased throughout the fall and into December. In Mesa County, 84 people have been hospitalized since October 1. Visit our website for information about virus trends in the community.
