Mesa County residents can now apply for the 2024-2025 Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) season with applications being accepted through April 30, 2024. LEAP is designed to help individuals and families pay a portion of their home heating costs. The program is not intended to pay the entire cost of home heating and applicants must meet eligibility requirements.

Community members are encouraged to apply online at www.colorado.gov/PEAK or by calling 1-866-HEAT-HELP (1-866-432-8435). Paper applications are available to pick up in person at Mesa County Department of Human Services or by calling 970-241-8480.

If applicants are financially eligible to receive LEAP benefits, the payment will be sent directly to the provider and will show as a credit on the applicant’s heat bill. LEAP benefits are the same regardless of when the application is processed. Please see income guidelines:
