In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Mesa County Board of Commissioners and county personnel planted a Pinwheel Garden at the old Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave. The vibrant garden symbolizes hope and awareness, emphasizing Mesa County’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for families, thereby preventing crises before they escalate.

Members of the community are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicions of child abuse or neglect. Assistance is readily available 24/7 throughout the year via the Mesa County child abuse and neglect hotline at 970-242-1211 or the statewide number 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437).

Every child deserves safety and love, free from the shadows of abuse and neglect. For more information about the Mesa County Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division, please call 970-241-8480 or visit their webpage at https://humanservices.mesacounty.us/child-welfare/.
