On Oct. 15, Mesa County Administrator Pete Baier and Budget Manager Diane Dziewatkoski presented the 2025 proposed budget during the Board of County Commissioners' administrative public hearing.

State statute requires County staff to present a proposed budget to the Board of County Commissioners no later than Oct. 15 each year. The proposed budget will be posted on the County's website. The Mesa County Administrator will present the final budget to the Board of Commissioners for adoption during the administrative public hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

“Mesa County remains committed to investing in key initiatives outlined in our strategic plan to bolster the county's fiscal stability,” said Peter Baier, Mesa County Administrator. “As we develop the 2025 budget, our strategic plan continues to guide us. Our primary focus is to deliver exceptional core services to our community and recognize the outstanding efforts of Team Mesa in making this possible.”

The total County budget is $246.9 million. This represents a slight increase of 2.2% over the 2024 adopted budget. The net County budget, which deducts interfund transfers and internal services, totals $210.2 million.

The proposed General Fund budget includes $94.9 million in estimated revenue and $96 million in proposed appropriations.
