Progress made on Justice Center Courtroom Design project
Mesa County is one step closer to its commitment to provide our community with court facilities that meet modern standards and the increasing demands of our legal system. At the July 23 public hearing, Commissioners authorized the Mesa County Facilities Director to approve a change order to a contract for the design of a second courtroom on the second floor of the Mesa County Justice Center. The amended contract with Blythe Group + Co. is for $105,920, down from the original contract amount of $215,600 awarded in January 2024.
The Mesa County Justice Center Courtroom Design project intends to repurpose the space currently occupied by the Mesa County Probation offices, which will be converted into:
- An additional courtroom
- An additional jury deliberation room
- A break room
- Additional office space for the Judicial department
Stay tuned for updates on the county’s initiative to provide our community with courtrooms equipped to meet the growing needs of our justice system.
