32 1/2 Road and Clifton Campus Roadway Improvement Project Approved

Today, at the Nov. 5 public hearing, the Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved a $3.59 million contract with K&D Construction, Inc., launching the 32 1/2 Road and Clifton Campus Roadway Improvement Project! In collaboration with the Clifton Water District, this project is set to bring crucial infrastructure upgrades to the Clifton area, enhancing safety and accessibility.
What’s included in the project?
- New bridge: The bridge over the Grand Valley Irrigation Canal will be replaced with a modern concrete box girder bridge to improve safety and durability.
- Sidewalks, curb, and gutter: 32 1/2 Road will be widened to include sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, enhancing pedestrian safety.
- Roundabout and drainage: A compact roundabout at 32 1/2 and E Road will feature upgraded paving, sidewalks, curb ramps, and improved drainage.
Mesa County will fund Schedule A of the project, totaling $3.37 million, while the Clifton Water District will cover Schedule B project costs at $218,384. Both organizations are committed to working together to bring these benefits to our community.
