Juvenile Diversion and Lighthouse Program Open House
On March 20, 2024, from 2 to 6 p.m., the District Attorney's Office will host an open house at 1060 Orchard Ave. for the public to learn more about the Lighthouse Program and Juvenile Diversion in Mesa County, check out their new space on the Colorado Mesa University (CMU) campus and answer any questions you have about juvenile programs from the District Attorney's Office.
When: Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Where: 1060 Orchard Ave. Grand Junction, CO 81501. Park in the CMU Commuter Lot between Walnut and Orchard Ave., north of the building.
Why: Learn about the programs, ask questions, and see the new space!
During the open house, you will receive information on two juvenile programs the District Attorney's Office offers to our community: the Lighthouse Program and Juvenile Diversion.
The Lighthouse Program seeks to identify youth with risk factors that make them at risk of dropping out of school, committing crimes, and beginning substance use. The goal is prevention and intervention through support, services, and education for the youth and their family.
The 21st Judicial District Attorney's Office has a comprehensive Juvenile Diversion program for many first-time and low-level offenders, given the unique circumstances that often occur surrounding youth who commit crimes. This diversion program is an opportunity to divert their case out of the courts and allows the juvenile to avoid having an adjudication on their record.
If support from these programs may help you or a family you know, please join us for the open house to gain knowledge and resources and have all your questions answered.
