Recycle your Christmas tree for free

Are you looking for a hassle-free and cost-free solution to bid farewell to your live Christmas tree and transition into the New Year’s festivities?

The Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Facility, 3071 Highway 50, offers to recycle your Christmas tree for free after Christmas day through January. You can head to the composting facility Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., to recycle your tree. Your tree will get processed into compost, ready to support a whole new purpose.  

Remember to remove lights, tinsel, ornaments, and the stand from the tree before dropping it off.

Flocked or artificial trees are not accepted.
