As the warm weather approaches, so do the pesky Japanese beetles threatening our local agriculture. Now is the time for our community to prepare to #BeatTheBeetleMesaCounty.

Here's how you can lend a hand if you're not in the Japanese beetle hot zone:

  1. Treat your lawn with grub control granules, such as GrubEx, in the spring, or contact your lawn care provider to complete the service.
  2. Contact CSU Extension at 970-244-1834 to request a trap for your property.

Our commitment to eradicating the Japanese beetle remains unwavering, and we appreciate our community's efforts to preserve our agricultural and agritourism industries that make Mesa County so unique.

Please visit our Japanese beetle eradication page here for current information about our eradication efforts.
