All six Clifton Community Campus partners attended the June 11 public hearing to share updates on the services they will provide at the brand-new community hub, which will formally open on June 22, 2024. 

Presentation highlights:

CMU Tech

  • Summer camps for 5th through 12th graders 
  • Summer camps are at an 80% reduced rate 
  • Non-credit courses 
  • Mobile learning lab classes: mechatronics, welding, commercial driver’s license program, certified nursing assistant, medical assistant, emergency medical technician
  • Credit courses will come to the campus

Clifton Childcare Center

  • Licensed childcare center
  • 206 childcare spots
  • 13 classrooms
  • Open to infants to preschool-age kids
  • Provide food to children and staff at the center
  • Creative Curriculum will provide early education to children

Mesa County Partnership for Children and Families 

  • Early childhood counsel 
  • Services include childcare licensing and health and sanitation services
  • Child and adult food care program
  • Help open new facilities
  • Help facilities expand
  • Grant access and quality improvement support 
  • Career pipeline for entry-level to advanced degree options 
  • Mentoring and career navigation, training, scholarship opportunities
  • Childcare resource and referral system
  • Real-time childcare slot availability 
  • Support for childcare homes
  • Local agency for universal preschool
  • Recently completed the first full Spanish pre-licensing course
  • Launching website at the end of the month: mesacountypcf.org

Meals on Wheels

  • Provides lunch four days a week to seniors 60+
  • A safe and accessible place for seniors 

After-school Program: Wunder Club

  • Give kids the opportunity to learn life skills and leadership 
  • Provide youth a safe place to hang out after school and get help with homework or engage in activities that nurture fun and growth

Clifton Community Center 

  • Plan events to bring community members together
  • Events on the planning board: family picnic, pumpkin carving, craft fair, farmers’ market 
  • Clifton Farmers’ Market every Wednesday, June 26 through Oct. 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Many events are free
  • Spaces available to rent  
    1. Gymnasium (450 people capacity)
