Commissioner Daniel tours Colorado Army National Guard facility
On the evening of Aug. 14, Commissioner Bobbie Daniel had the pleasure of participating in a tour of the Colorado Army National Guard Grand Junction office led by Adjutant General Laura Clellan. Daniel had the opportunity to tour the Grand Junction Readiness Center at 2810 Riverside Parkway and watch a great presentation from Colorado Army National Guard soldiers explaining their role in our community and the U.S. Military.
Most Colorado Army National Guard members serve part-time, attending monthly drills and annual training periods. These drills involve honing military skills like weapons handling, first aid, and leadership. But their service extends beyond the training ground. They often lend a hand in community projects, like:
- Building bridges and roads
- Responding to natural disasters
- Providing medical assistance in underserved areas
- Supporting law enforcement
- Educating youth on leadership and citizenship
Thank you to Adjutant General Laura Clellan and the welcoming soldiers who conducted the informational tour and continue to share their leadership skills with our community.
