Elections Announces Winner of the “I Voted” Sticker Contest
Mesa County Elections is pleased to announce the eagerly anticipated "I Voted" Sticker Contest winners. The Elections team launched the unique contest to bring local creativity from first to 12th-grade youth to the forefront of civic pride and community engagement.
The contest sparked considerable interest and excitement, with approximately 150 submissions from talented youth across Mesa County. Our dedicated election judges meticulously evaluated the submissions, narrowing them down to the top 16. Then, the public played a crucial role in selecting the four winners from the finalists showcased on our website.
We are proud to announce the winners of the contest:
Whitley from Dual Immersion Academy 4th Grade
Kinsley from Pomona Elementary 4th Grade
Layla from Redlands Middle School 7th Grade
Berklie from Redlands Middle School 8th Grade
Their designs will get featured on the "I Voted" stickers for the upcoming June Primary and the Presidential General Election.
"I am beyond excited about the entries we received — I love community engagement," said Clerk & Recorder Bobbie Gross, "Having an opportunity to educate our youth about the importance of voting and offering our voting community with this top-notch local art has been such a wonderful project."
We invite the community to join us in honoring these young artists' creativity and civic engagement. The celebration will take place at the Commissioners' public hearing on Feb. 6 at 9 a.m., on the second floor of the old Mesa County Courthouse, located at 544 Rood Ave.
"Mesa County Elections extends heartfelt congratulations to the winners and a big thank you to all participants who contributed to making this contest a resounding success," added Gross.
