Mesa County is committed to meeting our community's increasing demand to access mental health services. The commissioners have approved a $102,425 contract for the Behavioral Health Department office furniture to support this effort. This project is fully funded by a Colorado Department of Human Services grant, ensuring the expanding team has the necessary resources to serve our community.

This contract will furnish two conference rooms and 10 offices in the new Behavioral Health office space. These upgrades will provide clinicians and deputies with the proper environment to work efficiently.

The Behavioral Health Department is at the forefront of managing mental health and substance abuse crises through two essential programs: the Multi-Agency Collaboration (MAC) and Co-response. The MAC team connects local hospitals, law enforcement, and the Mesa County Detention Center to address the complex needs of individuals frequently cycling through jails, homeless shelters, emergency departments, and other crisis services. The Co-response program pairs clinicians with deputies to respond effectively to 911 calls involving mental health needs.

We are excited to see the Behavioral Health building move closer to completion and equipped to enhance mental health in Mesa County.
