It's been a year since Mesa County Behavioral Health launched the Multi-Agency Collaboration (MAC). This initiative brings together local hospitals, law enforcement, and Mesa County Detention to address the complex needs of individuals who frequently cycle through jails, homeless shelters, emergency departments, and other crisis services.

Voluntary and Hands-On Case Management: MAC serves as the community's single entry point for case management, offering intensive support on a voluntary basis. It delivers top-tier assistance to individuals struggling with behavioral health issues, accepting referrals from various sources such as hospitals, law enforcement agencies, court officers, and detention facilities.

Setting itself apart with 24/7 availability, MAC employs an integrated referral system that ensures rapid response when a participant requires assistance. Once a referral is accepted, individuals can expect one of the MAC agencies to reach out within 24-48 hours, guaranteeing a prompt and proactive approach.

Comprehensive Support for Long-Term Stability: MAC is equipped to assist participants in addressing resource-related barriers that hinder their long-term stability. With access to weekly psychiatry and medical appointments, participants benefit from immediate healthcare access. This program is highly customized to cater to the unique needs of each individual, facilitating connections to services. Each participant meets with their assigned Case Manager 1-2 times weekly, with more frequent access to peer support programming as needed.

MAC offers connections to a comprehensive range of essential services, including:

  • Employment opportunities
  • Access to food services
  • Housing opportunities
  • Assistance with Medicaid enrollment
  • Mental health services
  • Primary care access
  • Psychiatry and medication management
