During their June 18 public hearing, the Board of Mesa County Commissioners approved an amendment to delay the payout of a grant awarded to Mesa County Behavioral Health (MCBH) by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) in 2023. The $4.5 million grant was awarded for use in the 2024-2025 Fiscal Years. The amendment comes after the BHA experienced delays in issuing the grant, prompting them to offer an extension of the original award through June 30, 2025.

The grant will be used to support Behavioral Health office renovations, Behavioral Health staffing, Behavioral Health/Mesa County Sheriff Co-response, the Intervention and Diversion Team, Public Health's Grand Valley Connects service, and Behavioral Health's Case Management service through the Multi-Agency Collaboration (MAC).
